A notional representation of Homo Digvijaynonsensis or Diggy

Noted Paleontologist, Dr. Rambaba Lamba, has reported the discovery of a new hominid species based on some skull and bone fragments found in the forest tracts of North Madhya Pradesh. This new species provides the missing link between Homo Sapiens (modern humans) and their immediate ancestors, Homo Erectus, in the evolutionary chain.

The proud scientist has named this species as Homo Erectus Digvijaynonsensis or ‘Diggy’ for short. “I was trying to think of a suitable name for this species which is a link between apes and modern humans. I then heard Digvijay Singh’s interview on a news channel and somehow it struck me that naming this species after the great Congress leader would be appropriate” said Dr. Lamba to The Unreal Times. The Paleontologist Association of India has subsequently released a revised chart of the evolutionary chain.
